PL + VV is a new collaboration between Pablo Limón Design Office and SAVVY Studio, which made its debut for Mexico Design Week 2017 last month and in anticipation of Mexico City being chosen for World Design Capital in 2018. A compilation of creative exploration and unique ventures, the series consists of a variety of furniture pieces, objects and lighting pieces born from years of inter-studio collaborations. This new opportunity gives the chance to revisit and reexamine the process, and to inject new elements to further enhance each design.

A unique project in this series is with Más, a design studio specializing in products made of concrete. Developed as an exploration of the materiality, the project resulted in a line of furniture pieces made entirely out of concrete, highlighting its capability for texture and form. Having also frequently collaborated in the past with the brand Candela, an illumination studio in Mexico City, this series also includes a unique lamp collection, a collaboration that explores the capacity of Candela’s luminary expertise through various materials and shapes.

This unique collection of pieces brings together a wide variety of materials including, but not limited to: fiberglass, colored resin, stainless steel, basalt stone, reinforced concrete, borosilicate glass, vinyl, leather, velvet, oak wood, steel, tezontle stone, and molded polyurethane.
