GOMEZ

Gomez is a bar that meets the basic need of a city's nightlife. A place where people can drink while listening to good music.

The creative concept behind it is very simple: a mix of the common pub scene with graphic elements and contemporary art that unite the traditional and the innovative.

The use of different types of wood as well as warm, indirect lighting provide a welcoming atmosphere. The space behind the bar shows an exclusive design: a grid that makes the exact position of every article clearly visible. It also has two crystal carafes which, held by a simple mechanism, serve mezcal very easily.

A special iconography was developed to help communicate the bar's identity. It reinforces both the modern and friendly feelings of the place. An example of this is the wall paper that covers most of the interior, giving the space the classic sense of a pub with a slight psychedelic twist. These icons can also be found in applications such as the menu, advertising and signage.

The exterior can be set up or taken down in a flash. It consists of a wooden fence with a basic assembly system which evokes that of a typical American suburb. This way, come closing time, it only takes a small staff to—literally—make the place disappear.
